The Fish Market
The Fish Market has been around since 1976, traveling around different locations in the DC Metro area, and are currently located in Clinton, MD, which is right outside of Andrews AFB. Upon walking in, you definitely get the old seafood house feeling with the decor of the restaurant. On Wednesday through Sundays, The House Band entertains patrons, which features one of the owners on drums. But we're not here to party. We're here because we love crab cakes. So how were they? Let's find out!
Crab cakes only come fried, and are available as a double platter or as a sandwich. Menu doesn't really say what they come served with. Turns out, at least with the sandwich, that fries and cole slaw were extra.
The crab cake is made of backfin crab, with no noticeable filler. Fried golden brown and served on a french roll. Spicing is very light and not very noticeable. Crab has a decent flavor, but is not all that bold. Could use a bit more spice to coax the flavor out. The bread has a very hard crust, and is also hard to eat a soft sandwich with. Biting down as a sandwich causes the crab cake to spill out of the sides. Could have used a different style of bread for the roll.
