Tamberino's has been family-owned and serving Harford County for over two decades. While they are a pizza shop at first glance, there are two things they pride themselves on: Italian favorites and crab cakes. Given the crowd that is usually at the restaurant, we can clearly see that they are popular. Located next to The Lodge, Tamberino's does look like a classic Italian sub shop. But what you don't expect is the very generous serving sizes! We do know that pizza joints can kick out some serious crab cakes. Was Tamberino's one of them? Let's find out!

One of Baltimore Magazine's Top 25 Crab Cakes of 2013! The Thames St. Oyster House opened in historic Fells Point back in July of 2011, converting an old 2-story storehouse into the appropriately themed restaurant that it is today. While the main draw may be on oysters, they do serve authentic and traditional Mid-Atlantic and New England style seafood. The big draw for us, however, is their Cast Iron Crab Cake, which uses nothing but East Coast Blue crab. Given that this place is almost impossible to visit during "normal" hours without reservations, we managed to finally get a table (yes, with a reservation!). Was it worth the wait? The Crackpot Restaurant has been around since 1972, and was one of the first crab houses to fly crabs in from Louisiana year round. The crab house is termed "retro" for its decor that most likely hasn't changed since they opened. Despite the decor, they have earned numerous awards for their crabs and crab cakes, most recently being featured in 2013 by Towson Magazine and Baltimore Magazine (making their Top 25 Crab Cakes of 2013 list). The Crackpot is also one of the few places in Baltimore who dare to offer flavored crab cakes, as well as claim to have the largest crab cake in town (20oz!). With such history and reputation on the line, we, naturally, had to see if the Crackpot is all that it's cracked up to be. Curious? Read on and see what we thought!

With a name like The Harp, you instantly know that they are an Irish bar. Not just any Irish bar, but one of 2013 Baltimore's Best Restaurants according to Urbanspoon, and was named one of Baltimore's 25 Best Bars by Baltimore Magazine, as well as one of Restaurant.com's top rated restaurants in 2012. Now, Irish bars will generally serve your Irish menu regulars, such as Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, and a fresh pint of Guinness. While all of your favorites are there, but there are some items that aren't so Irish. Like, for instance, crab cakes! Read on and see if they lived up to The Harp's reputation!

If it's a luxurious evening out on the town you are looking for, then search no further than The Prime Rib.  The Baltimore location was the first of the three locations in the area to open back in 1965, set to emanate the elegance of the supper clubs of 1940's era Manhattan.  Business casual is the minimum dress code, with most patrons in suits/jackets.  Live baby grand piano and string bass music fills the restaurant, creating the perfect romantic ambiance.  So why are we going to a restaurant specializing in prime rib for crab cakes?  Were we lured in by the claim of their recipe being "award winning"?  Or are we afraid of beef?  Continue on with the article to find out!
