The Red Brick Station is a restaurant and brewpub located in The Avenue at White Marsh. Independently owned and operated, they strive to provide their guests with creative, English style dishes and English style beers. While the inside is large and accommodating, the outside covered deck is where you want to be in the warmer months. But we're not here just for the beer. Nick's Fish House is a fairly large establishment, located right on the water in South Baltimore. It's not the easiest place to find as the roads get a little wonky over by the Hanover St. bridge, but once you find it, you won't be disappointed. Open year-round, Nick's has indoor and outdoor seating, water views, cold beer, fresh crabs, and live entertainment. Slips are available if you arrive by boat, or you can just walk over if you arrive by cruise ship. You'd expect a place that knows crabs and seafood to have a stellar crab cake. Were we disappointed? You probably know Joe's Crab Shack from the commercials you see on TV. Driving past one, it may remind you of a Bubba Gump's. More perplexing than anything else may be that this is one crab shack that you can't get steamed crabs at. Well, not like what we're used to here in Maryland. Buckets of crab legs just aren't the same as a steaming pile of crabs in the center of the table. But despite that little difference, they do have crab cakes on the menu.
