Ryleigh's Oyster started out in Federal Hill as a relaxed oyster bar with upscale cuisine. They pride themselves on making everything from scratch each day, using quality seasonal and local ingredients that support sustainability and local farmers. Recently they expanded to a second location in Hunt Valley, so we decided to check it out and see what they can do with local ingredients. Read on to see how it went!

SeaPack is a familiar frozen seafood company that you've most likely come across in the grocery store, and probably grew up on. They are most notably known for their shrimp products, ranging from popcorn shrimp to jumbo butterfly shrimp. So many shrimp products that they'll keep 'ole Bubba Gump happy for at least a month. We've always known that they have a Maryland crab cake, but haven't been able to find them in the stores yet. So imagine our surprise when we find the mini crab cakes in one of our local Giant stores! We took one for the team to get this week's review, so read on and see how our experience was!

There's nothing like heading 'downy ocean' in the off-season.  The crowds are gone, prices are lowered, and the wait times at restaurants diminished.  Just head to the boardwalk, stroll around, and sample some of the fine beach cuisine that the town has to offer.  One such place is Shenanigan's.  Located on 4th St and the Boards, they have an amazing outside deck from which you can enjoy a beer while gazing at the ocean (as well as people watch!).  So while an Irish establishment isn't quite what you would think when it comes to crab cakes, we are always on the hunt for them.  So are they worth the wait, or do we call shenanigans?  Read along and find out!

This past weekend was the Fell's Point Fun Festival in Baltimore, an annual event for the Fells Point Preservation Society in its 45th year.  Originally created to raise awareness of the historic neighborhood's slated destruction to make way for a highway, the festival has grown larger and larger over the years showcasing what this 18th century neighborhood has to offer.

One big draw of a street festival, aside from the free entertainment and the lure of the beer garden (especially the one serving Heavy Seas!) are the variety of food stands offering a wide variety of food.  Baltimore isn't just known for its crabs, but also for serving up some mean pit beef, Polish sausages and, if you're lucky, lake trout.  But food options aside, one food stand that had to make an appearance is Sherri's.  

Sherri's Crab Cakes can be found at various festivals and shows up and down the East Coast.  They even go so far as to claim that they are the best concession crab cake sandwich.  Given that they started their business based on the fact that the festival crab cake offerings weren't very good, coupled with the fact that they had multiple stands at the festival, as well as a mail order business, they must be doing something right.  So how were these magical concession crab cakes?  Follow along and find out!

The Sunny Day Cafe is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of downtown Bel Air on Main St. Priding themselves on excellent service and fresh ingredients, the line out the door on any given day should speak for itself. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, though. So if you turn up after 3pm, you'll be mighty disappointed. We were lucky enough to grab a table outside on one of these last summer afternoons to sit down and try their specialty -- crab cakes! Read on to see what we thought!
