Stuggy's Crab Mac and Cheese Dog

What can you say about the all-Amercian hot dog?  Well, they do come in all sorts of varieties and flavors, that is for sure.  But the new trend is for the gourmet hot dog stand.  Gourmet dogs are quick, easy, and the topping combinations are plentiful.

Located in Fells Point, Stuggy's has brought a much needed diversion for the late night bar crowd from your usual pizza joint and diner.  With a focus on using the freshest ingredients without fillers or preservatives, they have some of the best dogs in town.  Stuggy's was a regular haunt of mine when I lived in Fells Point, so while at the Fells Point Fun Festival this past weekend, I had to stop in for one of their delicious treats.  With crab on my mind, they did not fail to deliver.  Read on to find out about this unique hot dog!

Tark's Grill

One of Baltimore Magazine's Top 25 Crab Cakes for 2013! And to be quite honest, for as long as we've lived around Baltimore, we have never heard of Tark's until reading the list. (I know!) Although it was a bit hard to find at first, we finally made our way to the quite sizable restaurant. Tark's gives off the vibe of a high-end restaurant with the dark woods and white tablecloths, while at the same time maintaining the casual appearance, especially with the large patio outside. Tark's is no stranger to the Baltimore Magazine Top Crab Cake list, having been on it at least 5 times (going by the plaques at the hostess stand). So with the expectations set, we headed out to see if Tark's is worthy enough to serve one of Baltimore's top crab cakes. Read on to see how it all went!

The current owners purchased the restaurant back in 1982, and ever since, the Wards have strived to provide top quality local cuisine in a place that emanates local ambience. Their three dining rooms are decorated with decoys (as Havre de Grace is known as The Decoy Capital of the World), local scenes depicted in paintings and photographs, and historical newspaper accounts. Of course, it was the crab cakes that attracted us. Read on to see how they were!

The Black Olive

The Black Olive is an authentic Greek restaurant, located right in the heart of Fells Point.  Constantly being rated as one of Baltimore's best restaurants, and receiving high accolades by Wine Spectator, this is one place that needs to be experienced when visiting the city.  Everything they do is organic, so you can expect everything to be fresh from the sea or farm to your table.  If you have the chance, take the waiter up on the "fish tour", where you'll get a first hand look at that day's catch, as well as platters of meat.  And for once, the CCR bypassed the fresh fish and opted instead for, what else, crab cakes!  Read on to see if they were every bit as fresh as the catch of the day!

The Bowman

If we told you that a seafood restaurant and a comedy club shared the same space, would you think it's funny? Neither did we, but it's still something you don't see everyday.
