Della Rose's has been Baltimore's tavern since 1944, when they first opened in East Baltimore. A lot has changed in that amount of time. Around 1961, they moved the restaurant to the Overlea section of Belair Rd, expanding their already well known menu to include sour beef and dumplings along with some seafood specialities. Then in 1998, that location then moved to where it is now, located in The Avenue in White Marsh. A second location was opened in Canton, just 2 miles from their original location, but that has since closed. No matter, as their tradition lives on in White Marsh. With this much local history, we were excited to try their crab cakes. Follow along and see what we thought!

Since 1973, Don's Crabs has been serving fresh, local seafood year round. With locations in Parkville and Bel Air, they're close by! What's better than hiking around Gunpowder Falls and enjoying the beauty of nature that Baltimore has to offer us, than to end that afternoon with some good food and cold beverages at a local nearby establishment? Nothing! Run by the same folks that bring us Freddie's, the Gunpowder Lodge (or GPL, as it is known locally) is a restaurant with an outdoorsy theme. They pride themselves on serving fresh food and providing a specials menu that changes weekly. With all of the good looking food coming out of the kitchen, we had to see if their crab cakes were on par with the rest of the menu. How were they? Let's find out!

Marylanders love a good crab shack. And Kahler's Crabhouse certainly delivers on the experience! They've been around since the 1940's, and have been at their current location since 1961. Holding on to traditional values, Kahler's aims to use the same quality ingredients that they've always used throughout their history, preferring Maryland Blue crabs to any other. Lib's Grill is a new venture from a well known Italian restaurant chain, Liberatore's. Instead of opening yet another Italian restaurant location, they opened a new raw bar concept (which happens to be a few doors down from one of their Italian restaurant locations). You'll find an extensive oyster bar, in addition to steaks, sandwiches, flatbreads, and seafood. Which, of course, includes crab cakes.
